UFC Fight Night 139 Denver: Sung Jung Vs. Rodriguez

A featherweight fight between Frankie Edgar and Chan Sung Jung was set to be a great headliner for the UFC’s official 25th anniversary show, UFC Fight Night 139 at Pepsi Centre in Denver, Colorado on November 10th. Edgar comes into this fight off the back of a unanimous decision victory over Cub Swanson back in April.

After injuring his left bicep, Frankie “THE ANSWER” Edgar forced to pull out of his main headliner bout. Edgar is hoping to make a come back in a few months and would like to fight as early in January of 2019. UFC was quick to find a replacement as featherweight prospect Yair Rodriguez will step in on short notice to face Sung Jung.

Yair “EL PANTERA” Rodriguez (10-2-0) didn’t set foot inside the Octagon since losing the bout to Edgar back in May 2017. “El Pantera” was initially slated to face Zabit Magomedsharipov at UFC 228 at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas,in September but had to pull out due to injury.
